INFORMATION SECURITY


Information security is defined as the attempt to prevent the existence of information from being obtained by undesirable persons on all kinds of media by using the right technology for the right purpose and in the right way in order to protect the information as an asset from threats or dangers. Information security; It ensures the protection of the services, system and data provided.

Information security is not just about protecting information from unauthorized access. Information security is basically the practice of preventing unauthorized access, use, disclosure, corruption, modification, inspection, recording or destruction of information. Information can be physical or electronic. The information can be anything like user information or social media profile, mobile phone data. Due to the sharing of data and its continuous accessibility, transmission of the information from the sender to the receiver in a confidential manner, without being corrupted, destroyed, altered or captured by others, are the basic criteria for ensuring information security.

Information security consists of three basic elements called “confidentiality”, “integrity” and “accessibility”. If any of these three basic security elements is damaged, a security vulnerability occurs.

Confidentiality: It is the protection of information against unauthorized access and unauthorized access.

Integrity: Information is not changed by unauthorized persons.

Accessibility: Information is accessible and usable when needed by authorized persons.
